LESA Examination

I did my LESA examination this morning. It only took me 45 minutes of the allotted 2hours. I’m not sure if I should be concerned about that or not, but to be honest I took my time while answering questions. I think the thing that made it go by so fast was my typing speed. They only require you type 45wpm and I type 120. So.. yeah. I guess that gives me an edge. Hahaha. I was told I (along with anyone else) probably wont hear anything back until January. That sucks, but whatever. I’m glad I didn’t my exam and I can continue looking for other work. If this turns into something good, well awesome, if not then oh well.

Also, I’m going to try very hard to avoid making epic food. I’ve turned into a feeder and I worked too hard losing weight to just gain it all back now. I’ve gone carb crazy.

Baking and some other goodies..

I don’t know about any of you, but I grew up making and enjoying No Bake Cookies. They’re technically a “candy” but who cares. They’re delicious! I remember making them with my Aunt and cousins and I think the reason is because they were so dang easy. No baking and only a little while of waiting required, which definitely works out well when you’re a child and your patience is short (to say the least)

Here is the recipe I used: Yum Yum Recipe!

I made it in a 6qt saucepan instead of a 4qt.. because I figured it was better than a 3qt. Haha. And of course it was as easy as I remember it being.. so enjoy the pictures!

Slow times

Not a whole lot is happening in my life at the moment. Thanksgiving is finally all behind me and my left overs have finally been eaten. I am tired of turkey and will probably wait another year before eating it again. Mike and I went to Goodwill and found a receiver to use with my speakers. I had brought my receiver but not the chords.. and Sony has special input thingies. So whatever. Long story short my speakers are being used again. Yay.

Mike got us a bed today. He had left his bed in Oregon when he moved to SC and I left my bed in SC when we moved to Wash. so yeah, we had a sleeping mat thing, but not a mattress. Yay for having a mattress.

I’m pretty excited/nervous about my interviews. Mostly excited though. I can’t really think of anything to be nervous about in particular, just the whole idea of finally getting a job in general has got me all wound up. Anxious I guess is the proper word.

I’ve been reading Kushiel’s Avatar, which is the third book in the series by Jaqueline Carey. Super good books though, I would definitely recommend them to anyone who likes indepth plots, twists and turns, and not quite knowing how things are going to pan out until the end.  I bought it with my Borders Plus rewards. Yay free book. 😀

I’ve also been trying very hard to stick to my diet, and it’s paid off. I’m 142. A far cry from the 160 I was last November 🙂 So of course that makes me very happy.

Other than that.. life is life. Same ol’ same ol’.

Interviews!!

So this morning I got a call from David’s Bridal asking me if I would like to participate in an interview with them on the 7th. Of course I accepted. I’m pretty excited about it. I’m good with retail and I think it would be a fun place to work.

BUT WAIT THERES MORE.

About two or three weeks ago I was throwing applications around online and I saw a job posting for communication officers and dispatchers. You know, the people you talk to when you call 911. I read over the requirements and applied. I figured, fuck it. Maybe I’ll get a call back to do their testing.

I TOTALLY DID.

I got an email inviting me to participate in the performance test for the LESA Communication Officer and Dispatcher positions.  The performance test includes the Multiple Tasks Split Ear examination and the CritiCall ™ examination. .. This is a huge 9 part two hour test. I just finished learning their phonetic alphabet.. now I need to learn their color abbreviations.

I. am. fucking. stoked.

Turkey Soup!

I just finished making my turkey soup out of the carcass and left over veggies. I boiled the carcass for hours yesterday and just finished it today.. strained, picked out the good meat, cleaned the broth.. THEN I added celery and carrots, potatoes and egg noodles, and then added back in the meat. Also spices but whatever. It’s fucking delicious. Thank you Grandma Spencer for my love of turkey noodle soup. It’s all about wasting nothing. woot.

So last night I went out with Mike and his friend Chris. Had a Lychee Martini that was.. okay. Didn’t really taste like booze, more just like.. pear. Blech,. BUT THEN, we went to THIS bar and it was great. I had a whiskey and coke that was GREAT and then I got.. the bucket. Well, Rock Island Bucket. That is I got a bucket full of long island iced tea, and it fucked me up. Best $9.50 I’ve spent in a really long time.

So I’m glad I have soup, I’m not really hung over, but my stomach is kind of sensitive.

AND FOOTBALL. Go Seahawks! 😀
