Project: Poquito Casa Day #1

Well, I had a rough start and some set backs but I am finished with day 1 of the Poquito Casa project. I got so much stuff cleaned.. though I haven’t necessarily found where I’m going to put the stuff that was inside of the trailer. Namely my saddle and tack. I scrubbed the floors, ceiling and everything in between. At least 2/3rds of the trailer.

Because I got started so late I didn’t realize I would run out of light by 4pm. I have power in there, but it’s not really illuminated enough for me to be sure I’m cleaning everything properly. Plus I want to do a second round on the table and benches. I might have to get some upholstery cleaner. My dad thinks he has some.

I also need to scrub the ice box and oven with some fine steel wool and carwax. I already tested a spot and it gets rid of the stains that my BrightGreen and Bleach wouldn’t do.

I have no blinds, no curtains, nothing on the windows. I’m kind of concerned about that. There are five sets of windows in that thing, of all different sizes, and half of the windows don’t have curtain rods.  Now, if I had a sewing machine, I wouldn’t be freaking out. I have enough random clothes/material/pillow cases I could just sew up some nice curtains. But I DON’T. So. Any make-shift recommendations?

Things for Part Deux:

  2. Tiny mirrors in different shapes

Set backs

Okay so I’ve had a few minor set backs. The first one being that I didn’t put the spider bomb off until 8:30 this morning (instead of last night), because I got home super late and it was really dark and I couldn’t see to get over there.  I still need to buy yard lights.

The second one is I somehow have managed to lose my camera battery charger. Now what this means is I can either A) use my camera until it’s battery dies which I don’t think will capture EVERYTHING I want/need anyway.. then try to find the charger. or B) Save my battery life for my friends birthday party on friday.

I think I’m just going to use it until it dies. the charger has to be RIGHT HERE. somewhere. :s

It’s probably right in front of me.

Thursday is the Best Day

Why, you ask? Because it’s fucking pay day! Woot woot!

Okay, so now it’s time to get serious about Mike and my little bro coming. My poquito casa has been moved up to it’s area and now I have to do and buy shit for it.

Purchase List:

  1. Bug bomb
  2. 4-6 solar yard lights, so I don’t fall in the motorcycle graveyard when I try to get to the bathroom
  3. Christmas lights, because.. well.. I like them in my bedrooms.
  4. Cleaning gloves, and bleach.

To-Do List:

  1. Remove all of my items from inside the poquito casa and put them in the white storage box.
  2. Using a broom, stir up all of the spider webs (if there are any) and opening up all the windows and door. Allow it to air out.
  3. Bomb it.
  4. Clean. Clean Clean Clean..
  5. Clean my bedroom for my little brother.

So yeah, that’s my game plan. I have seven days and I work six of them. I think I can do it. I hope I can do it.

So today was a good day as far as everything is concerned. My dayslayer shift is behind me, and no more in the forecast. My little trailer (now known as poquito casa) has finally been moved to it’s final destination. What this means is I can spend my day off (Friday) cleaning it and bombing it and moving into it. Sort of. I will also have room to string out all of my mask stuff. Huzzah.

Mike and my little bro will be here in eight days. Yay. I’m very very excited. I will be getting my licence in exactly two weeks. Yay Yay. And right now my life has a very good outlook..

Well except that I work 6 eight hour days in a row before my first day off with Mike, including but not limited to me having to do inventory, ordering (pastry AND ingredients), putting away freight (hopefully I don’t put my back out) and dealing with my coworkers while no boss is present.

I’ve decided that should things go awry in the kiosk as far as there being no boss figure, I’m not going to lash out and get all power crazy. I’m going to react to it as I would any other time and write everything down so that I can present it to Stacie upon her arrival home. This is not to say that I expect bad things to happen, I just remember what happened last year when Stacie took her vacation and it was not good, to say the least.
