Coburg, Oregon – Golden Years

RickDancerTV July 2013 Coburg Golden Years and More. – YouTube.

Heck yes! I will be volunteering both nights at the my fair towns Golden Years celebration. Doing what? Beer Garden. I don’t want my bartending skills to get rusty while I look for work. Should be fun.

While there are a few parts that are rather long winded. The Golden Years festival is a local fundraiser and all of the money we gain stays in the community. Not Eugene, or any of the other surrounding area’s, just our small town of 1000 people. Yes, I will take pictures.

Wasps!

Yesterday after getting home from swimming at the river with my cousins and hanging out at my Aunts’ house I came home to find a giant monster wasp in my house.

I couldn’t figure out how it managed to get inside since all of my window screens are new and there are no bends or openings large enough for him to get through. After freaking out (rightfully so) I chased him out of my house with my mop.

Later while I was outside smoking I saw one of these bad mama-jama’s fly up to my porch light.. and crawl behind it! OH NO.

I realized then how the thing had gotten into my house. Directly behind the porch light is my spare bedrooms closet and the water heater. It goes right up to the siding.

I immediately go into the house (I put my cig out but brought the ashtray inside with me. Freak out moment.) I shut the spare bedroom door and put a towel along the bottom. I was too much of a pansy to actually stick my head in the closet and look to see if there was a nest.

Then I called my landlord and today the pest control guy came out.

They’re Mud Dauber wasps and aren’t really aggressive despite their nasty appearance. He says they eat crab-looking spiders. The whole front of our apartment complex is covered in these spiders. So he sprayed a but load of wasp agent orange in the holes and said if I see some more in the next two or three days going in there to call him.

I hate flying insects.

There Goes My Diet..

..Right out the window!

I went over to my cousins house last night to hang out and help stain their gazebo. Then we had some cocktails, but no biggie! I was drinking Jameson straight and chasing it with water. I figured I was good!

And then I woke up this morning completely dehydrated..
And then my cousin made breakfast..

Two biscuits and 1/2 cup country gravy later and I’m at 56 carbs for the day instead of under 20.

Fuck.

Longest Week Ever!

Good god, this has been a loooong week. This week I’ve:

  1. Driven to and from Redding, California. That’s 640 mi. +/-
  2. Broke down in Redding. Oh fun!
  3. Started my Ketosis diet. Think induction phase of Atkins.
  4. Started crocheting again. Hopefully I will have enough goodies by winter to sell at a craft show.
  5. Worked on my car and fixed ABSOLUTELY nothing. That was a disappointing day.

So there you have it. That’s my week in a nut shell. The drive to Redding was absolutely miserable. I’m never leaving the Willamette Valley again by driving, fuck that, fuck getting stuck anywhere, let alone the surface of the sun.

I’ve lost 4 lbs so far on Keto. I realize I should only weigh myself once a week on the same day but I couldn’t help it. I NEEDED TO SEE RESULTS. And I did.  I’m happy.

Onto Crocheting! I’m making hoodie/scarf things.. or at least I’m working on one at the moment. This one (instagram) is for.. UofO or Oakland A’s, or Green Bay Packers.. You see, I figure there’s a large market so if I push them as team colors instead of just “Green and Yellow!” I might have some luck making some $$$.

It finally cooled off down into the lovely mid-high 70’s here so I’m cleaning and having a fantastic day.

xoxo
