We made it to the super bowl!! Yayay. Yes, I’m a Seahawks fan.. and I’m stoked. M and I are going to be driving south tomorrow to my Mama’s house so that he can grab his pick-up. We’re going to do Super Bowl at a friends house in Salem and then M is heading home and I’m heading back to Eugene to work on business stuff with my Aunt.
Turns out, my Padre is also going to be coming up this weekend from California! That’s pretty rad and I’m happy about it.
I really need to finish up my Jackalope paintings because I’m going to give them to a friend for her birthday. So I guess that’s probably what I’m doing today. We’ll see!
Just to get it out of the way: This post is not nearly as exciting or important as the title leads on.
I finally (see use of the title word there?) got my PC all hooked up in our spare bedroom.. or as I like to call it, my craft room. It’s been so cold here lately I just kept putting it off. This morning once I climbed out of bed I ran into the freezing cold spare bedroom and kicked on the radiator heater. By lunch it was nice and warm and I got to work. I did a lot of sorting and set up my painting station as well as getting my PC hooked up.
I need something to do. I mean something really awesome. I’m staying the night at my sisters house. She owns a horse that needs work and I eagerly volunteered. We had her feet trimmed today and I got some rather disheartening news. It will be 12 – 18 months before the horses’ (Red) hooves are in peak shape.
Ican do ground work with her for the next six months and maybe light riding after that. It will be fun and a lot of work. But still I feel like I need more hobbies. Little things. I am capable of doing so many things already I feel like a lot of crafts are no longer novel.
Well, I had a rough start and some set backs but I am finished with day 1 of the Poquito Casa project. I got so much stuff cleaned.. though I haven’t necessarily found where I’m going to put the stuff that was inside of the trailer. Namely my saddle and tack. I scrubbed the floors, ceiling and everything in between. At least 2/3rds of the trailer.
Because I got started so late I didn’t realize I would run out of light by 4pm. I have power in there, but it’s not really illuminated enough for me to be sure I’m cleaning everything properly. Plus I want to do a second round on the table and benches. I might have to get some upholstery cleaner. My dad thinks he has some.
I also need to scrub the ice box and oven with some fine steel wool and carwax. I already tested a spot and it gets rid of the stains that my BrightGreen and Bleach wouldn’t do.
I have no blinds, no curtains, nothing on the windows. I’m kind of concerned about that. There are five sets of windows in that thing, of all different sizes, and half of the windows don’t have curtain rods. Â Now, if I had a sewing machine, I wouldn’t be freaking out. I have enough random clothes/material/pillow cases I could just sew up some nice curtains. But I DON’T. So. Any make-shift recommendations?
