Accordion, Bracelets, and Cowboys.

I’m going to keep practicing and try to get a video up of me playing! Or struggling to play.. or just button mashing. Whatever it ends up being it’s sure to be entertaining!

It’s a shame that wasn’t legit eh? I’d be playing that shit all daaaaaaaaaaaaay.

I’m still spitting out bracelets. I took a break while I was at my Mom’s house (the last few days) because it’s just too damn hard to string everything out and then pack it up between work time. At home I can just leave it strung out. Hahaha. I’m sure M just loooooves that I’ve taken over the dining room table and the spare bedroom.

Now for the part that probably grabbed your attention. COWBOYS.

Rawr!

But really though, this little snippet of the post is about my experience watching Brokeback Mountain. Now, before your panties get in a twist, I promise this isn’t some gay bashing rant. Yes, there were parts that made me uncomfortable but that was because I was watching it with my sister and I’ve been lusting after Jake Gyllenhaal since Donnie Darko. If you’ve seen the movie, you know how sexual it is.

What bothered me is that I don’t see what was so damn special about it. I spent over two hours waiting for something substantial to happen.

It never came. I spent two hours watching boy/boy sex and boy/girl sex in an awkward silence with my sister.

Fun times.

Longest Week Ever!

Good god, this has been a loooong week. This week I’ve:

  1. Driven to and from Redding, California. That’s 640 mi. +/-
  2. Broke down in Redding. Oh fun!
  3. Started my Ketosis diet. Think induction phase of Atkins.
  4. Started crocheting again. Hopefully I will have enough goodies by winter to sell at a craft show.
  5. Worked on my car and fixed ABSOLUTELY nothing. That was a disappointing day.

So there you have it. That’s my week in a nut shell. The drive to Redding was absolutely miserable. I’m never leaving the Willamette Valley again by driving, fuck that, fuck getting stuck anywhere, let alone the surface of the sun.

I’ve lost 4 lbs so far on Keto. I realize I should only weigh myself once a week on the same day but I couldn’t help it. I NEEDED TO SEE RESULTS. And I did.  I’m happy.

Onto Crocheting! I’m making hoodie/scarf things.. or at least I’m working on one at the moment. This one (instagram) is for.. UofO or Oakland A’s, or Green Bay Packers.. You see, I figure there’s a large market so if I push them as team colors instead of just “Green and Yellow!” I might have some luck making some $$$.

It finally cooled off down into the lovely mid-high 70’s here so I’m cleaning and having a fantastic day.

My sister sells stuff on Etsy.com and makes money. I’ve considered the idea but never really ran with it. You see, while I can do a lot of crafty stuff my attention span for it is very limited. However, I am really really good at Crochet. I taught it in Oregon as well as doing demo’s and making hats here and there for my friends. I’ve worked on projects privately but never for any sort of income, or expected sales. People just don’t like crochet. Or so I thought.

I browsed around Etsy and decided to see what kind of random shit people were crocheting and trying to market these days. And then I see shit like this: http://www.etsy.com/shop_sold.php?user_id=5178081 Okay, so what the fuck. People are actually buying these?! I can make these!

So I decided to try my hand at making a beret/tam/whatever-the-fuck hippy/indie hat. http://twitpic.com/1csmfu It wasn’t very hard, that’s for damn sure. I kept track of my pattern and just improvised as I went along. I actually never had to frog (pull out) any of the rows. That surprised me.

Now I’m on a hat kick. Haha. Ironic. I always thought people didn’t like crochet. Hopefully I can make some money on the side.
